How many emails from school per day?

Out of interest, how many emails do you get from school per day?

Our school uses an emailing system, and rather than send one bulletin each week they send many emails per day, and then a newsletter each week too.

Averages up to 3/4 emails per day but I'm finding it impossible to keep up with all the random bits of info across so many emails.

How do your school do it?

Probably 2 a week maximum so far. Only in reception but I was thinking we have a lack of information as one of the emails is just the standard weekly school newsletter. Some weeks that is all we have had.

WatermeLONE · 14/11/2021 23:10

Lucky if we get 1 email in a week!

School is utterly rubbish at communicating anything!

PE teacher has gone AWOL! Any communication to the parents? NOPE HmmConfused

starcocoon · 14/11/2021 23:11

1 a week but get around 5-8 texts a week.

sunshineandshowers40 · 14/11/2021 23:14

Far too many at primary school. Less with secondary school but they do send me whole school emails twice (2 children at the school) 🤷🏽‍♀️.

Justajot · 14/11/2021 23:15

Letters 1 day per week. Newsletter with a list of the letters that have gone out/reminder of the events next week 1 day per week. They sound really on top of communications, except that pretty much every letter gives the wrong date or similar, so has to be followed with a correction.

Crumblinginside · 14/11/2021 23:15

Once every month
Letters come In bag or a text

If great

For the primary school, 1x newsletter a week, maybe 1-2 reminder emails in a week if there are events &, currently, almost daily contact tracing emails (I have 4 in the school though). For the secondary school, 1 x newsletter a week & 2-3 emails daily about various things, at least 4 contact tracing emails a week (1 child in the school).

TurnUpTurnip · 14/11/2021 23:16

About the same, and because I have 4 in the school they send me the same email for all of them so I will get each email 4 times 😐

sunshineandshowers40 · 14/11/2021 23:16

Just checked. 5 this week from primary school plus the weekly year group email.

indiesearcher · 14/11/2021 23:20

19 last week we had!! Seems hugely excessive! Every PFA bake sale, event reminder, update etc etc all separate. Wish they'd at least collate it for one daily!

Our school sends text messages and we usually get about 3 a day which I find quite annoying but also helpful when I forget things.

unknownstory · 14/11/2021 23:44

None some weeks. 15 the next.

Zodlebud · 15/11/2021 06:15

One a day, with all the messages collated into a single email. It used to be several a day and it was impossible to keep on top of.

purplesequins · 15/11/2021 06:20

about one per month per child maybe?

only individual communication is sent via email.
everything else comes via a school communication app.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 15/11/2021 06:21

Varies between 0and 5. Worst but is working out which child they refer too.

Collating wouldn't work because Recption doesn't need to know Yr6 PE is cancelled for example. Nor do you really want the zcovid update in the same email as the Christmas Dinner reminder...

purplesequins · 15/11/2021 06:24

oh yes aroundtheworld how many times have I received a 'your child is required...by tomorrow' email...

which one? or at least put the class and year?

cabbageking · 16/11/2021 22:51

Newsletter on website @ every 3 weeks but no email sent out

Text if the child has done something fab or a reminder re change of club info or time.

Yellowmellow2 · 18/11/2021 18:31

Speaking from a school’s point of view, this is one of the areas we can NEVER get right! Some parents say it’s too much, some say it’s not enough and some are quite happy! It’s like homework - you can never please everyone!
