Wimbledon Common Prep

Hello, I am looking for your views on WCPS. We have a place for DS there (Reception). He is already at nursery at another prep school. We are moving to Wimbledon. The issue is that we haven't had a lot of communication or interaction with the school. Additionally they are changing Headteacher, so maybe they are dealing with that. Generally, you visit the school once get a feel and decide. But at such a young age, one visit may not be enough. The school is not doing visits or tours or open house right now. If your DS goes there, I would love to know how you find it. Thanks.

So if you have searched for previous Squirrels/WCPS threads you will probably come across a lot of comments from people who haven't sent their boys to the school but have a lot of remarks to impart about its reputation locally. I would try to avoid placing much reliance on those.
My boys were extremely happy there, under the head who is leaving, the head of sport is really wonderful, the academic pace does suit the more academic (as most 7+ preps will) but I know all sorts of boys who had a great three years there. There are loads of clubs and pre-covid lots and lots of lovely trips. Boys go onto a variety of schools - the 7+ is a challenging time, more for the parents than the boys - the boys are well prepared for it and there are lots of good schools in the area for the next stage.

Thanks @tourbillon for this detailed reply. This is exactly why I ask, because I noticed what you pointed out about other threads. A few people never sent their children there. I tried reaching out to some people on here who said they sent their kids go there, but not a lot to go on. When they are so young, you want to get it right for their sake. Your reply is very helpful.
