Berkhamsted Prep School

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of the waiting list for Berkhamsted Prep School for Year 5 or 6. My son is already at the senior school and we would like to move my daughter there from her current prep school. I've spoken to admissions and they have said there are currently no spaces but they can put us on the waiting list. I can't get any info about how many other people are on the waiting list etc so not sure whether we stand a chance or not!

Does anyone know if there is typically any movement in Years 5 or 6?

Sadly logistics won't work for another prep school in the area so if the waiting list doesn't work, we'll have to look at entry in Year 7. (I'll post another question about that separately in the secondary section.)

Years 5 and 6 tend to be pretty full as parents switch in Y4 to avoid an overly stressful 11+ process. Spaces do occasionally come up but there’s not masses of movement. Siblings have priority though.

Thanks Zodlebud. I assumed there wouldn’t be much movement but we’ll keep our fingers crossed. You never know!
