Replies from Prep Schools

Hello, we are currently looking at placing DS into a prep school in the Oxfordshire area. I’ve had wonderful responses from the majority of prep schools but I’ve also had no response from one of the “well known” schools in the area.
Ive emailed, called and left a message etc…
Should I wait a while before trying again?
It’s for 2024 entry into reception but I know it’s best to be prepared.
Is this a common occurrence?

It’s half term for many schools at present. Covid is also raging it’s way through pretty much every school in the country. They may well be on holiday, or off sick, or having to cover for another staff member.

No it’s not normal to not hear anything but if they are struggling with all of the above they will be prioritising 2022 admissions. I’d wait until half term is over and then try again a week after they are back.

I’ll catch up with them when half term is done and dusted!

Half term this week and next at most preps

But I have a kid at an Oxfordshire prep, and they definitely aren’t on HT this week, all systems very much go.

Ah I see, well I will definitely try them again next week!
On the website it says they accept registration forms from birth so I know I'm not early as my little one is 18 months! We didn’t really know about relocating until now so I’m worried I’ve missed the boat for the more popular school we’re looking at

A lot of independent schools in Oxfordshire are on 2 week half term at the moment and if only having 1, will be off next week. Most schools return 1st November
