Pre-prep Interview with Headmaster

We are due to have an interview with headmaster of one of a popular pre-prep schools. They start their intake at 3 so there are no assessments for children, just the parents..
Does anyone have any experience with such interviews? I would appreciate any tips

I think the aim is to come across as sensible people who are serious about their child’s education and will be supportive of the school. If you know people whose children go there, say that you’ve heard good things from them.

I think it's bloody disgusting this is allowed tbh.. they are 3 ffs!

But then I'm a very proud teacher in the most deprived school where I live...

I don’t mean to sound snippy, Mammyloveswine, but who would not allow it? It’s a meeting with the headmaster who is in charge of how the school is run (although presumably he has to report to the governors).

The OP has described this as a pre prep school so it’s a fee paying school. If they are oversubscribed, they can choose however they like, they don’t rely on cut off distances.

@Mammyloveswine they are interviewing the parents, not the child. What do you object to being allowed? Aside from the points CruCru made about it being an over subscribed fee paying school, I am struggling to comprehend what difference it makes that they are 3 when the parent is being interviewed

Why is establishing a rapport between parents and school disgusting? The headmistress of our prep knows all the kids by name, and all the parents. She knows challenges for parents and children, she supports both. I really don’t know why a school knowing their kids, their background and their motivations is disgusting. I would hope most schools establish that to the best of their abilities.
