I think we have decided to move DS from state to private and looking at Royal Grammar school (prep). Previously this was Lanesborough school (Guildford).
I have no idea of admissions process, or independent schools at all really and I'm looking for tips from those have been through the process. I've attended an open day and I do think DS would thrive there, but with only a month until the year 3 entrance exam... what should I focus on to get him through?
He's pretty good at maths, English, sports. He is very bright and generally gets things very quickly. He's not confident on a computer but we do have laptops at home so if needed I can teach him how to use one.
How do the tests work? Please could someone (anyone!) give me an idea of the process and how to best support him in techniques, resources etc? What should I be focussing on with him?
Head teacher said not to tutor..... so will he stand a chance against all the pre-prep and tutored boys?
