"Feeder preps" for Tiffin Girls or St Paul's?

This may not exist, but I was curious. Does anyone know which prep schools ends up successfully sending the majority of students to either Tiffin Girls or St Pauls Girls?

I see a lot (some) destination info on individual prep school websites but obviously nothing on feeder schools into these two.

Appreciate they are academically selective on 11+, but based on stats, anyone know?

Re. SPGS, I posted data, in the last post, here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/primary/3843462-Falkner-house-girls?pg=3.

In 2021, about 50%, or slightly less, of SPGS offers went to the girls from these five schools (45 girls in 2021 vs. 34 girls in 2020): Bute House, Falkner House, Glendower, Kensington Prep and Pembridge Hall.

Wow, I have so far only taken a quick glance but I gotta say you have done the forum proud with your insanely amazing data - thank you!!! I will definitely go through your thread.

These 5 schools seem to sadly be for parents who are ultra wealthy (from what I hear), and 100% not us, vs somewhere like Seaton House which is academic but understated.

Blush Various comments sent me down a rabbit hole!! Some of the schools’ publishing formats are more transparent than others! Bute stopped reporting results publicly, etc. Apologies that I don’t know much about Tiffin.

Plenty of a bright girls from good state primary schools get into both of these schools every year.

We used to be in West London so know the schools PP mentioned. Of them all, Bute was most mixed cohorts and a strong bursary scheme which kept it reasonably balanced - although location means there are a lot of very wealthy families too.

Ken Prep is also a tiny bit more balanced as due to being in Fulham it picks up girls from Putney, Wimbledon, Wandsworth rather than just Holland Park, Knightsbridge etc!

I agree the others are very wealthy catchments.

These schools also prep more for the central London schools such as SPGS, G&L rather than Grammars. The prep schools around tiffins area like Seaton House you mentioned are more likely to prep for it as there will be more girls entering.

DD went to a state school everyone goes private to avoid and got into both Tiffin and St Paul's. It's not about the primary school unless your kids are borderline (in which case they might not have much fun there).

SPGS offers 115-120 no, with additional spots on the waiting list? Not sure about the math calculation.

I agree with PP who say it's definitely more about the individual candidate than the schools.

So even with the above stats you can see that those schools send a relatively small % of girls to those schools. So hardly a guarantee.

Take Pembridge for example. Out of a cohort of 35, just under ten were offered a place at SPGS. So great results but not by any means a guarantee.

If you want to prep for schools like St Paul's then you need to look round your local preps and look at their destination schools. Where do you live now? Remember some of the above also select at 4 too so not a guarantee you'd even get in.

Tiffin is a totally different school too and from what I understand, plenty of girls there come from state schools. You have to be fantastically bright and prepared for a very different exam. Almost all tiffin girls applicants would receive extra tuition I imagine.

Have looked at Seaton House and they seem to mostly prep for the Sutton Grammars which might be a good bet if you'd rather go the grammar route and try for Tiffin. Are you local to there?

yep! still at school but Bute house is right next to spgs and I went to Falkner with a lot of friends at spgs who went to glendower. don't know anyone from Kensington in my year, but quite a few went to pembridge. Falkner in particular had a bunch of students in 2018 get into spgs so do with that what you will
