My son is preparing for 7 plus - Hamptons. One of the activities for the assessment day; they have asked the candidates to bring in an item they treasure and to talk about it. What sort of items have your children taken in? and what sort of conversation is expected around the objects. Many thanks

Not 7 plus but my dd did LAMDA exam stage 2 and they were supposed to bring in their favourite item and talk about it, and for stage 3 they had to talk about their favourite book. Mine took a picture of her favourite toy and she was asked questions as to describe it? why she likes it? what is special about it? what does she do with it etc. I would recommend if your son has a favourite item then you can ask him questions about it so that he knows how to describe it. My dd too is going to take her 7 plus exam next week and from what I am gathering they mostly expect children to use interesting and expanding phrases.
