Any tips on letting go?

My eldest has just started school. I, like many parents feel a wave of emotions. Sad, missing her, happy to have some breathing space and time for my youngest. Mainly anxious that she'll be OK. I'm trying my hardest to remain positive and supportive for her, while feeling a mess inside. Any tips to see me through so I can be the best I can for my little girl?

Bless you, we've all felt like you. I promise you that soon you will feel stabilised again, its almost like a period of grief that you have to go through before you crack on with the next stage. She is going to be just fine. For the vast majority of children school is a positive experience. You will quickly find that the school day goes in a flash, she will still need you lots and lots and as she will start going to bed later and later as time goes on you will still have lots of time with her!

You soon live the fact they’re in school having a great time, especially when they babble on and on all the way home, this’ll one day become ‘day was boring, school’s boring’ .. sad the babble stops.

Thank you, I needed those responses. I'm much less emotional tonight. She had a great day and seemed much more settled too. It all takes time 😀
