Hello

Can anyone share their experiences of Boxgrove Primary school or St Thomas of Canterbury primary school in Guildford?
Is one perceived better than the other?

Would anyone recommend alternatives?

Look forward to hearing from you!

They’re both very good schools. Boxgrove is very large and has good facilities but both are on lovely sites.

Are you Catholic? Most children from St Thomas’ will go to St Peter’s so you’d risk your child not being able to go up with their friends if you aren’t Catholic.

@Frarnces thank you for your feedback.
I'm baptised catholic but not practicing and ideally would prefer to send my child to a non-religious primary school so they can make their own decisions when a little older.
I have heard both schools are good but only based on old reviews on forums etc. I was a little concerned with the size of boxgrove - I went to a school with 60 children per year, split between 2 classes, so wasn't sure if the larger setting actually affects the levels of teaching.

I assume most kids that go to boxgrove go to George abbot?
I could potentially be in a financial position to consider independent schools for senior years, but I'm not sure how many kids, if any, make the transition from boxgrove to tormead/GHS/RGS.
