Collingwood Prep (Wallington) or Banstead Prep

Hi everyone

Does anyone has a DC in Collingwood Prep (Wallington) or Banstead Prep? I have a DD at a local state infant school which is excellent but feeding into not so great junior school, so looking to move her to a private school from Year 3.

We are considering private schools for secondary (City of London Freemen’s School in Ashtead and Caterham School), so my options are either to try and get her into one of these at 7+ and continue there (a bit problematic as they are not that close and I work FT I’m London, so commute to school will be an issue) or move her to one of the local preps, the closest ones to us are Collingwood (10mins walk) and Banstead Prep (10 mins drive). I have a strong preference for a co-ed school so not considering all girls schools at the moment.

Would really appreciate any opinions on all above mentioned school!

May be worth visiting both schools to see what the staff, other pupils and the school are like- you can often get a feel for how your children would feel about it. Also, it would be worth bringing your DD along to see both schools. In the long run, missing two mornings/afternoons at infant school won’t have a great adverse impact on her.

I don’t have children at either school but have heard good things about both. With regard to the senior schools you mentioned, City of London Freemen’s has a better reputation and more positive feedback among parents and among students who attended.

We are looking for private school for my daughter, She will be starting reception in year 2022. Do we have any recommendations out of the following -

1. Aberdour Banstead
2. Banstead Preparatory
3. Sutton High School
4. Downsend pre-prep
5. Ewell Castle

Will appreciate any opinion based on personal experience and if someone can rate them(if possible) as well, that would be great!
