Private school entry - Ireland

Have had a few threads on relocating from the UK

I have 3 small DC, one will be primary age next September.

I would like them to attend private secondary but how do you go about entry? Are there specific feeder primary schools or call you just apply and it's about space and money?

Do you have to have a link to the school?

Thanks for any Intel

Decades ago when I went to school in Dublin it was just a question of space and money but there might be more pressure on places now as population/prosperity has increased.
I would phone one of the schools you’re interested in and explain you’re thinking of relocating and see how likely it would be there would be a place available. You’ll soon get a feel for the situation
Hopefully someone with more up to date knowledge will be along soon!

In Cork.. it's a case of one feeder primary school or else connections to the school ie father past pupil , recommendation or scholarship
