Is anyone here employed as a hospital based/home visiting teacher. If so can I ask some questions?

I'm not but my son had a teacher during a hospital stay last year so might be above to help

Thanks Claire, really looking to speak with someone who has moved from mainstream into hospital about admin, workload, curriculum, planning etc. Pros/cons etc. Hope your son is better now.

Hi Cabbage
I don’t work for the medical service but do something very similar in that I provide statutory education for children unable to access it in school. It’s been a fantastic move in terms of work life balance.

If you are used to being a class teacher then I think you’ll find the admin/planning very minimal. Still very rewarding and interesting but not the same level of mental challenge or buzz as a school.

Feel free to PM if I can be of any more help.
