Primary schools - Putney - For Gifted/DME child

We are looking for a school that can understand and challenge our DC8 who is gifted but also DME. Our current school has been a total failure and we have done now the transfer paperwork. We are avoiding all the other religious ones which doesn't leave much choices really. We are also considering private schools, but not idea what to ask or if any around could help our child to flourish. Has anyone got any input about Primary schools in Putney?

Is DME SEN+gifted? No expertise in Putney but know independent schools have helped several friends. Smaller class sizes are generally an advantage and a strong focus pastoral care particularly. Talking directly to the SENDCo at any school would be my first suggestion to see if they demonstrate understanding of your child’s needs.

Yes, a HLP/Dual exceptional child, although we got some schools around, our choice is reduced, we are trying to see if someone has got 1st hand information about the schools around including the independent ones.

We know Hurlingham won't be able to accommodate his needs. We have not been able to contact many schools apart from one, where we spoke with the SENCO, this one is a state school, so it could be given to us once the application with the council is processed, the other choice, is a very slim but also we've not been able to speak with their SENCO or head, we are looking into independent schools too, but would like to have more information from other parents that many they've been in the same situation as us. We are finding very difficult find a place that is able to nurture a HLP/DME child.
