Primary school with good SEN

My daughter's primary school has a deficit of 400k. They have just got rid of all the LSAs and some of the most experienced TAs who were brilliant. My problem is my daughter who is year 4 going into year 5 has adhd. It's not too bad but it does affect her school work and as a consequence she relies on that extra support from LSAs. I was just wondering if anyone can recommend a primary school, state or private, that has good SEN provision in north/north west London area.

No suggestions on schools, as I live in the West Midlands.

Good luck with your search. Funding is tight everywhere, and so many children are losing out as a result.

Yes if she needs that lsa support why doesn't she have an ehcp?

Because local authority doesn't deem her adhd bad enough. Her current school had a few LSAs who would take small groups off to work on areas they needed help with. But that's not going to happen next term

Have you actually applied for an EHCNA? LAs often put parents off. The only legal threshold for an EHCNA is a) have or may have SEN, and b) may need SEN provision to be made via an EHCP. Any other test is unlawful.

Apply and appeal if you are refused. The vast majority of appeals against refusal to assess are upheld.

In the meantime the school could apply for high needs top up funding if they need more money to meet DD's needs.

What is your plan for secondary? If your DD needs additional support at primary then she will definitely need it at secondary. Unfortunately cuts are being made in every school due to funding issues and without an EHCP, any support she may get is always going to be at risk.
I was told my DS would never qualify for a Plan as he was 'too able' but I applied for one myself when he was in Yr5 as I was so worried about secondary.
Going into Yr5 is the perfect time to start gathering evidence of her needs for secondary.
