Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone can give me some career advice as I'm starting to get itchy feet .
I've been teaching for 16 years now. I've worked in a variety of schools and nurseries and am currently working in a primary school. I teach my specialist (IT) degree subject area all week - giving class teachers their time out. I've done this for several years now. I've been heavily involved in staff training and have won the school a digital award. I have also done a TON of professional development courses which have enhanced my skills/CV.
I am passionate about tech and ideally I'd love a digital development officer type role. However these do not exist in my authority and they have no intention of creating such a role. Some like minded colleagues help me deliver tech training to other teachers within our authority. Nearby authorities are not currently recruiting.
I am really ambitious however I have no desire to become a Depute or Head Teacher. I don't want to go into industry at the moment as I'd lose the school holidays (I have children). Although these type of roles exist further afield I have no desire to move house or move my children to other schools.
Does anyone have any ideas/inspiration for me?
