Can you recommend any good websites about (red) squirrels for dd aged 9?

Dd2 is making a book about squirrels; in particular the plight of the red squirrels. She is looking for information on how they became endangered, how grey squirrels have affected them, that sort of thing. She is keen to research it herself. Dh found the "save our Squirrels" website but the language is not particularly accessible for her. Anyone any recommendations?

Theres a section on that site designed for children. Did you see it?

this has some good info too although you'll have to scroll down quite a few pages to get to it.

If you go to www.rte.ie (Irish broadcasting) Mooney Goes Wild often has items, and in the main google bit of the rte site there is some fairly recent stuff. I heard today that grey guys are going to be given contaception. I saw a red squirrel a few monts ago, they are small and cute! (yes I should learn to do links)

thank you all! Yes she saw the children's section on that site, but it's only got squirrel-related games on it - she wants facts!. I shall point her in the direction of the other links and see what she thinks (she's gone down to the park just now!)

dustystar, thanks for that link - dd2 has printed off quite a bit of info from there - just what she was looking for! (we had a giggle at the story too!)
