Hi all,
My son is at Wimbledon chase primary school, in reception but considering to moving to a prep from Y1. Could anyone please tell me about Homefield Prep and Milbourne Lodge? I’ve heard that there are buses going from Wimbledon to Homefield. Any views on both schools would be great. Thank you!

Some schools who offer transport only offer from age of 7 so it might be worth double checking.

I don't know anyone at Homefield in this area (Esher) but got a few friends with children of different ages at ML which I also looked at 3 times in person before ruling out.
I think it depends what you're looking for in your son's education. It is the most academic school in the area and the hm told me (& others I know) academics are the most important thing about the school & she is very passionate about the school, knows every name etc. However it is liek marmite, some parents love it as it pushes the kids to the best of their academic ability & others don't as it lacks other aspects of education, some kids can lose confidence if not academic. We ruled out due to the amount of time kids spend at their desk from an early age despite of daily exercise, testing on set words each week from day 1 / weekly spell tests from summer term reception and an overall feel it's too old fashioned.

You should also look at Shrewsbury House PP, most parents planning on sending the boys up to the main prep at age 7 which has transportation / lots of pupils from Wimbledon or Rowans (their other pre prep in the trust, though I hear different from SHPP). We chose SHPP and feel they have the blend of academic focus, creative ways of learning and nurture just right. We felt Shrewsbury Prep had a more modern focus , everyone has a go at everything, boys looked happier and destination schools aren't far of what ML achieves.
Not sure if Hampton Boys an option too. I would def advise going in person to look at schools and go back again for your preferred option as there were things we missed second time round.

We have been looking at Milbourne lodge and Surbiton High Boys. We’ve been out off of Milbourne because of the many reports of bullying and poor pastoral care. Does anyone have any more recent updates? Thanks
