Hi there lovely parents,
We live in cotswold but thinking of moving to Nottinghamshire to be closer to family. Our family lives in the city and we want to ideally settle in a village close by. We have narrowed down 2 areas - Burton Joyce and Woodthorpe. How are the schools in these areas?
We are keen on a house in Burton Joyce. The closest school would be Burton Joyce primary school and after that it's lambley primary. Any experiences in these schools? Any feedback would be much appreciated Smile Thanks

Burton Joyce Primary is lively and has a fabulous headteacher who leads her staff brilliantly. The school has really good wraparound care and one of the teachers is a Apple Leading Educator. The school has an excellent reputation and is part if a well regarded Trust.

I have no experience of Lambley Primary personally but it is not as highly regarded as Burton Joyce Primary.

So your catchment secondary for Lambley would be Colonel Frank Seely in Calverton and Carlton Le Willows in Gedling. Both places are OK but have you looked at the villages towards Bingham. Bingham has a nice town offering whereas the other two don't have anything like that.

Woodthorpe secondary would be Arnold Hill which isn't great. Woodthorpe is next to Arnold so you have a little town but it's not that great - Sherwood is a bit more cosmopolitan. Its so exciting in Arnold that a poundland is opening soon!
