School appeal help please

Can any of the experts help me with appealing my daughter's middle school place, please? I'm a complete novice to this. Our first choice is the feeder school but we are out of catchment for this school. Nearly all her classmates will be going to this school. It's an academy & they will be holding their own appeal. I have to send the initial appeal to the school clerk. We are hoping to appeal on social & educational reasons. Please help me. Can you direct me to where I can find more information as well please?

Any appeal for a middle school will not fall foul of the infant class size regulations, which is good news. That means that you have to argue that the detriment to your child is higher in not having a place at the school than the detriment to the school in terms of not offering a place.
As an academy they are responsible for arranging the appeal and having a panel of 3 independent members. What many academies do is contract with the Local Authority, so that they know that they independent panel members.
You need to look for all the social and educational needs of your child which will be benefited by being in your preferred school because those are what the panel will make the decision on.
