School Appeal

Good evening!

We received the results of my sons primary school on Friday gone.

We weren't given any of our choices (first choice catholic school 2&3rd were convenience options). They offered us a totally different school instead.

We have since found out by our first choice school that we should've been allocated a place and the local council have messed up somewhere and the correct procedure hasn't been followed.

We are waiting for the school to try and fix this for us otherwise we will be appealing. Do we have a leg to stand on in this instance?

Also to mention. He is baptised, this school is usually under subscribed too but this year it's a different story.

Appeals are heard under infant class size rules where any of the classes in Reception, Y1 or Y2 have 30 pupils if the school is full. With a PAN of 60, an appeal for this school will clearly be under infant class size rules.

All places will have been offered. You cannot find out if they have been accepted. However, as you are number 1 on the waiting list, you will be told as soon as anyone drops out.
