What happens next after offer day?

Literally that really.. our council website has very little info. It says you don’t need to accept anything, that’s assumed unless you constant them. Do we just wait for school to contact us? Is that likely to be soon or nearer summer hols? And what about things like after school club which we’ll need, I assume they might be quite popular.. the school has one but I cannot find much info online anywhere 🤔 would it be worth contacting the school? I don’t want to annoy me them if all this info will be sent soon anyway!

Our school would contact you. But not until at least after the second round - so probably around May half term at the earliest. You’d get a load of paperwork at that point. Normally your child would then be invited to a stay and play and you’d be invited to a parents info session in July, but with covid I’m not sure that’s happening this year.

No harm contacting them about after school club. I wouldn’t make it a Monday morning though, that’s peak craziness in the school office!

Thanks, that’s really helpful! I’ll maybe drop them an after school club email later in the week! My friend was chatting in our group chat and said she’d literally battled through a phoneline on Friday morning to get one of 26 spaces in her new schools after school club 🙈 but her DD has got into a much, much larger school than mine!

There’s a second round of allocations that covers all the late applications, people who changed their mind etc, yes. Or at least there is here! It’s in May. After that it becomes more ad hoc. Our school usually gets quite a few more from that round.

If you have a confirmed place and you’re happy with it then second round is irrelevant to you though.
