I HAVE NOT GOT TIME FOR THIS!!!!!!! but have spent the last HOUR trawling the internet for some clear templates of nets for the usual 3-D shapes (cube, cuboid, sq-based pyramid, triangular prism, cylinder, cone, tetrahedron etc....) You'd think it wd be easy! Not so? Anyone have a link? Please?

Try www.bgfl.org/bgfl/custom/resources_ftp/client_ftp/ks2/maths/3d/index.htm
I found it on fab search engine called topmarks.co.uk.
If you click on the solid shapes it gives you the properties of the shape and it's net. Hope this is what you are looking for.
Another good site I use is primaryresources.co.uk

Thanks all...... got all excited earlier this am when I stumbled across the SEN site, but couldn't manage to cut & paste the templates to get just 1 per page without all the bits round the edge. If there's a way to do it that I'm missing........ Oh, and just realised there are one or two of them in the Notebook software gallery on my laptop!!

The one I gave you allows you to print out the nets by clicking on them.

clam · 11/11/2007 14:27

Ah yes! Thanks, smartiejake. All sorted! Just got to do the rest of the week, now! Don't you just love Sundays?

If you go ahead and print from the sen site you just get the net on an A4 piace of paper. Brill!

clam · 11/11/2007 14:46

Ah! Thanks, Beadgirl. Wasn't sure if that would be the case, as my school laptop won't connect to home printer and home PC won't connect to the internet (see why I'm stressing today?!). Wasn't happy about leaving it 'til I get to school in the morning to see if it worked.

I have that prob with my school laptop. I usually transfer all my planning, links and all, onto my USB pen and then transfer it over to my pc with the printer. I hate going in on a monday morning with fingers crossed that the server/ internet/ printer will be working in my class room (which it frequently doesn't GRRR[cross]) it's all very well having all this lovely technology when it actually works [emoticon with steam coming out of ears]
