Westbury House School, New Malden

Hello Mums,
We are planning to consider Westbury House School at New Malden as one of the options for my 4-year-old son to start Reception this September 2021. Could someone share your review or experience with the school?
Though it is an independent school, I came across the OFSTED report rated in 2015 as requires improvement. This confused me a bit. Any thoughts or guidance on this is much appreciated.

The school was bought by Inspired Learning Group and inspected by ISI in 2018. It's no longer inspected by Ofsted. My dc went to a similar small mixed prep in SW London and played a lot of sport against WH. I would say it's the type of school that you need to visit before making a decision.

Have you considered the many amazing state schools locally?

MS2321 · 09/04/2021 09:19

@Skatingpark97 Thank you for the feedback. Yes, we have scheduled a school tour in a couple of weeks. Was really keen to hear from parents whose child already goes to that school or other parents who have more information about the school as well.

@Lockdowndramaqueen Yes, We have applied for the state schools as well. In the event of not getting places in the desired school, we might need other options to cover ourselves up.

Hi @MS2321 what did you think of it in the end? We are also considering Westbury House School... are you joining in nursery?

Hi - We are in a similar situtation, and wondering if you ( @NetflixParents ), were able to gather a point of view. Any guidance will be incredibly helpful.

Thanks,

Prateek

Lots of excellent state schools locally and, if you consider Wimbledon, much stronger options privately. It’s a pretty cramped spot, I couldn’t see the value add personally.
