Don’t know but my dd has exams next week which I presume are these 🤷‍♀️

It's probably the school's own internal testing, to find out how all the children have got on during the home schooling, and identify trends/gaps. Might also feed into a forthcoming report or parents' evening. Our school often do little tests at the end of topics etc.

If you're at all concerned, you could ask the teacher.

Mydarlingsleepthief · 22/03/2021 18:55

Or so is it SATS? 🤔

DancesWithDaffodils · 22/03/2021 19:01

SATs have been cancelled this year, so it is something the school have chosen to do.
You'll need to ask the teachers if you want more info.

Ahh I didn’t know they had been cancelled! I’m not bothered enough to ask the teacher, was just curious!

Changemaname1 · 22/03/2021 22:18

@LetItGoToRuin yeh they’ve done that last week at my dc school

Schools tend to do a round of assessments each half-term or so in order to identify progress (or lack thereof), gaps, target children for intervention, etc. These won't have been possible via remote learning so the last data point teachers will have is December. These tests will just be to see where the children currently are. They will compare this to where they would 'normally' have been so that action plans can be put in place for after Easter.

Official external exams are cancelled but all internal exams will continue as normal.

The school I work at is doing assessments for all year group this week (Junior school) to identify gaps and work out what to teach in the summer term. I'm in Y6 and we're saving the most recent SATs papers to do at the end of June/begining to July to have a "SATs score" for them even though they've officially been cancelled.
