Go and see the school. I appreciate people's point of view, but we had a good experience at pghs and so you have to see if you can see your daughter doing well there. To me, it's a good, small, local school.

I have a daughter currently at the school and she has had a very different experience from the previous posters. She is academic and geeky. She started halfway through Year 7 after a terrible experience at a well-regarded competitive central London girls school. She absolutely LOVES PGHS. Yes, there has been bullying, and some of the girls can be mean, but I think this is a feature of this age group and this behaviour exists at all private girl schools. At any rate, the PGHS staff have been excellent in their response to any issues - the two new deputy heads in particular are wonderful and are really approachable! There have been lots of staff changes in the past year and the new staff members who teach my daughter - Drama, Chemistry and Music and the deputy heads - are excellent. My daughter really likes the heads of science and maths, who have been great at providing additional enrichment for my daughter. All staff are responsive to parent feedback. We couldn’t be happier.
