School Lunches on return to school

Since the return to school post lockdown, my daughter's primary school is making no lunch offering to KS2. We all have to provide packed lunch from home (apart from those eligible for free lunches)
I questioned this with the Head but he told me it was because he simply couldn't afford it! It is my understanding that lunches should be available to purchase for all those who to wish to, even if they could only offer a cold lunch option to be eaten in the classroom. Does anyone else have this and think it's right?

My dd's school is doing the same. It's to do with being able to social distance at lunch time I believe. I'm lucky as my dd is in reception so still gets a lunch.

Since Sept our school only offers picnic gab bags to KS2, and full menu to KS1. It's due to space constraints and SD
