Putney high junior school

Hi there

We have been lucky that my daughter has got a place at Putney high junior school at 4+. She also has one at the study in Wimbledon.

Please could mums let me know about Putney high and if possible the study?

My daughter went to the Study and then Putney High senior school. Both schools are great, The Study is a very kind school and get great results to all the top senior schools. If you want your daughter to go to Putney High at 11+ it all depends if you would like her to change schools or not. However if you are thinking of a different school at 11+ you would be better to send her to The Study as they have the relationship with the senior school heads and rigorously prepare them for the exam. Both schools are great.

I think there is a lot of fear about the 11plus exams in SW London (no doubt there is pressure) so people do feel pressured to taking up a 4+ place. We opted however for an 11+ plus school because we wanted to see how our child developed and then pick a school best suited to them. I can’t imagine you will change out of PHS when there.

Schools like Study/prospect/hurlingham all have fantastic 11plus results so shows the system works.

If PHS is the best school for your DD then go for it but don’t do it because you want to avoid the 11plus, your DD being at a school which doesn’t suit her in the long term/she is the only one swapping out is stressful also
