Writing tips for Y1

DS(5) has been struggling with his writing work assigned by school this term. We don’t have live lessons but pre recorded videos by his teacher. He is a very reluctant writer so we barely get any of the set writing tasks completed any day. At present they’re expected to create a comic book strip including speech bubbles with punctuation, time adverbials etc. I can barely get him to write a sentence and it’s becoming really stressful as the teacher publishes written work of other children who’ve managed to do this. I don’t want to push him too much but are there any resources to gradually improve his confidence? He’s a good reader but struggles to convert his thought to words if that makes sense? He then gets frustrated and gives up.
