We are considering Kings House School for our DS. Struggling to get a feel for schools due to lockdown. Would really appreciate views on the school from any current parents.

Do you mean the boys prep in Richmond upon Thames? If so it's 1 of 3 leading boys preps that go up to 13 in the area, the others being The Tower and Shrewsbury House School.

Sorry for type, should be Tower House School.

Yes, the prep in Richmond. Just interested as to the ethos of the school and how current parents feel about it. We’d love a school like Hampton for secondary so wonder whether a school that prep for 11+ might be better. Also wondering about whether co-Ed like Kew college or prospect house in Putney might be better for early years. Really at a bit of a loss right now due to no proper visits allowed.

It's impossible to know what will have happened to the 13plus entry point for London day schools in the future but Kings house has a good record for entry to Hampton at 13.
I would go for a local prep with good community. I'm not a parent at Kings House, hope you get a response here.

@mammabea Kew College has a good record of getting pupils well up to speed for the 11+.
Re Hampton, last year all boys that took the exam received an offer.
Just for reference, the Head is retiring this year.
