Chorleywood

Hi there, we are hoping to move to the lovely Chorley Wood and we already found a place.

Our only concerned is that it is very close to the M25. As we are moving out of London for a peaceful countryside feel, we were wondering if the proximity of the M25 causes to hear the noise of the traffic.

The house is in Solesbridge Lane.

Many thanks and have a lovely day.

Maria

You will be able to hear the M25 on Solesbridge Lane quite clearly - like a droning noise. We were married at Micklefield Hall. The noise isn’t bad but you can definitely hear it.

You will definitely hear the motorway from that part of Chorleywood. You usually can't hear it in the main part of the village near the shops and the station. Occasionally you can hear it if the wind is blowing in the right direction if you are in the East part of the village.

Thank for responding, we went to see the house and it is perfect for us. The only downside is the noise from the motorway, we can definitely hear it constantly. Ah so hard to decide.

I would also consider pollution levels around there. If it’s the house I think it is then there is very little in terms of tree planting between the M25 and the house to help with the air quality and muffling the noise.

Again if it’s the property I think it is then you can see by the price that it comes with some serious negatives. Compare it to all the other properties in the area and you will see that it’s rather “cheap”. You might have fields around you but I am not sure it could be described as peaceful countryside.

Yes that is what we are thinking, such a pity. Thank you so much for your reply
