My daughter just attended the Putney high 4+ assessment on zoom last week. I wonder what type of girls they are looking for, as my daughter was born in May which I think it will be a little for her to compare with the girls who born in autumn. Under the influence of COVID-19, the interview all hold on zoom and it becomes more difficult than before. My daughter finished the whole assessment but not answer all the questions correctly and I think her performance is not perfect, Just wait for the result for nearly 2 weeks, I am really anxious about that. By the way, we have the fulham prep as our backup, any feedback of that school?

They will compare your DD only to other girls born in May, so you don't have to worry about the autumn borns. Since hundreds apply every year, they know exactly how many extra points children score on average when they are born a month earlier, for example. She doesn't need to outshine the autumn borns, only the other May borns. Still super competitive of course. Good luck!

Thank you so much for your help. They will only compare with the same month or all the spring born girls?

same month. In the end, they rank all the candidates but the way they do it is that September is the month where they take the score achieved and then each subsequent month gets a few points added so they can compare the final score. So if a September born needs to achieve 45 out of 50 points (to pick a random number), a May born may only need to achieve 36 points. I don't know the exact scoring system they use but roughly this is the idea they once explained during their open day.

Wow, it’s very useful for me. Really appreciate for that.

We also had an online 4+ assessment for KP. Think my DD did fine in the exercises, but she certainly wasn’t her engaged; chatty self. I think doing it online with unfamiliar people is a big ask for this age! Will be interesting to see if we are offered a place and how other girls found the assessment. It’s an especially tough decision because we haven’t even had the opportunity to visit most of the schools at any point.

Same situation for my DD. Especially for the spy part. Wrong answers a lot.... finger cross both of us can get the offer from KP. It is really a difficult year for the children and parents.

Updated, we received the email from KP, luckily, we got the offer. Feel so proud of my DD.

Hi, your messages on this thread are quite helpful.
Could you please share what was the online assessment like please? We are going for an occasional place and anything in regard to the online assessment with Ken prep would be really helpful. Thank you!

As said above, online assessment/interview isn't great for this younger girls.

Hi OP, we are in process of deciding which school offer to take and one of the schools is KP. Wondering now that you have been there for 2 years. What are your thoughts on the school, etc? Is your daughter very happy there? Are you happy with the school?

Many thanks in advance!
