Primary catchments - North St Margaret’s, Twickenham

Hello all

Just wondering if anyone here lives in north St Margaret’s (above the 316) and has children who have been offered a place at primary school (based on location) recently.

We are currently looking at houses on Haliburton Road and wondering whether there is any chance of getting into Orleans Primary or St Stephen’s.

We are also looking at a house below the 316 which would likely been in the Orleans catchment, but as you can imagine the house is a bigger compromise!

Our toddler is 2 years away from applying for school but we really want to feel settled somewhere soon (this will be our first house purchase after 13 years with DH) especially as our current landlord has now given us notice and we’re hoping for another baby soon!

Any advice or guidance would be hugely appreciated!

You would ha e a good chance at st Stephens but I don’t think you would get Orleans infants if you’re north of a316.

Have you looked at Old Deer Park. Our friends living in Haliburton send their children there and are very happy.

Thanks both! Yes I thought we might be a bit far for Orleans - such a shame as it looks lovely. Sadly I don’t think our budget will stretch to a house in the catchment.

Haven’t looked at Old Deer Park - that’s a good shout - although their website says they’re shortly moving site on the Richmond Road so wonder if we’ll have a similar issue being too far north of the school?
We’ve found a wonderful house but fear we might miss out with our dithering on school catchments. Argh! It was so much more simple to move before we had a baby!!
