We are looking into pre prep and prep schools for our children for next year and found Swanbourne House! Any thoughts? Wanting a warm and friendly school....

Fantastic school- nurturing, small classes, fantastic ops for developing public speaking skills. We love it. Lovely grounds and fab teachers.

@SuzieBell123 I’m also considering this school for next year, following your post!

Can’t comment on pre prep as son joined later, but he is very happy. Seem to cater for all abilities really well. Learning support available where needed and excellent. Many pupils go on to secure scholarships at senior schools too. Friendly, supportive atmosphere. Good pupil - teacher relationships. Small classes. Lots of space to burn off energy, trees to climb! Lots of extra curricular activities. Just switched from CE to PSB which seems to be going really well (suits my son as it is continual assessment rather than a week of stressful exams).

Hello

Also wondering about views on Swanbourne for prep - any thoughts on the Head or the academics?

@SuzieBell123 did you choose it in the end?

Thanks in advance!

resskiestonight · 27/07/2021 21:42

We love it- the head has made some big changes and the school is in a great position as a result. I have a boy and a girl -very different -who both love it. The children have fantastic opportunities but also a lot of fun!

CauldronBubble · 28/07/2021 07:24

Thank you @resskiestonight - that is really good to hear! Do you know where your kids will go next?

resskiestonight · 28/07/2021 08:14

Probably Stowe

CauldronBubble · 28/07/2021 09:11

Sorry, last question @resskiestonight - how is the art and the drama? Are there lots of options for non sporty kids? Thank you so much!

resskiestonight · 28/07/2021 18:16

Yes absolutely - simply tonnes of drama and extra curricular clubs. There is something for everyone believe me! Defo the speaking opportunities for youngsters is one of the school’s strengths. Feel free to PM me if you need more.

Hi. Thanks for this post. I am also looking to send dear daughter. We have visited and we both loved the school. Is anyone familiar with the bursary process as well as on the day assessment? My daughter is current year 3 so looking to get her in for year 4.
