Supplementary Information Forms

If I apply for a COE school that requires a SIF to prove baptism/religion/living in parish then am I right in thinking I don't need to fill in the form if my child is not baptised or in parish catchment? It is a third on the list, back up choice for us, extremely unlikely to get a place even if we didn't get the other two choices. But is it even more of a waste of space being on there even without the form? I feel like it doesn't apply to us as we have no supplementary supportive information to give? Or do they automatically ignore any applications at all without one?

If you do not fill the form in then you will be still eligible for a place at the school but you will be much further down the admission criteria order, which significantly reduces your chances of being offered a place at the school.

We'd already be bottom of the barrel for a chance anyway, with us not being religious or in parish catchment? I thought the SIF was just to give you a chance to prove you were either of those things or that you had attended church even if you weren't in parish catchment? If we got a form it would just be to confirm we were none of those things wouldn't it, so not improving our chances any?

Just fill it in with something like, “My child is not baptised, nor do we worship regularly, but we would like our child to be bought up with Christian values in their life”.

You’re not being dishonest and if it comes down to you and someone who hasn’t filled the form it it could all they have to go on.
