East London schools

Hello everyone!

I'm new to the UK education system.

I've recently purchased a house in East London and it seems that most of the highly rated/ranked schools are in West London - is that right?

The best ones I could find that were sort of in the area were the City schools (City School for Girls and City School for Boys).

Does anyone know of any good schools in East London?

are you looking for an independent or state school? State would depend on your catchment area, which you can check here

in terms of independent schools, have a look at faraday prep, and grangewood prep

You don't say whether you are looking for primary or secondary.

I toured Forest School last year and really thought it was wonderful - the right mix of academic, pastoral and motivational care.

Depending on where you are in East London, some of the NW London schools have bus routes with private companies.

East London is huge! You need to be a bit more specific. You also need to clarify if you are looking for private (fee paying) or state schools.

Thanks everyone! I'm looking for private / fee-paying schools, near Angel.

You'll be close enough for Westminster.

Also Queen's Gate and Portland Place School.

In East Lindon, there's Forest and Bancroft's. But if you're in Angel, they're probably too far for you.

In fact, if you're in Angel, your offspring can use the tube, so you're not confined to the immediate area.

Have a look at the Good School's Guide.

From Angel (well Kings Cross) you can easily reach all of the NW London schools around Hampstead / Highgate.

Look up Channing (girls), highgate (co-ed), then there is City boys and girls as you have mentioned. North bridge house canon bury which is less selective and in my opinion there are better options but some love it. Francis Holland for girls Regents park , queens college but they are more central London

Angel is North London. The nearby private primaries are:

Charterhouse Square, Dallington, Lyceum, St Paul’s Cathedral School, Rosemary Works, Children’s House and Gower School

What are you looking for in a primary?
