Hi, my husband has just got a job at addenbrokes so we will be relocating to Cambridge in September from London. My two kids will be year 6 and year 4 then and we are looking for good schools either state primary or prep in Cambridge. They are currently at an outstanding state primary in London. We will be looking to live in central cambridge but as yet have no specific location. Any advice on primaries would be really appreciated. Thanks so much

To be honest there are very few ‘bad’ schools in Cambridge. The tricky bit will be finding one with space for them both. Cambridge has a fairly transient population but nevertheless finding one school with two places in the right years may be tricky. If you’re going with state sector you can ask the Local Authority what places are available but it may change before you move. Central Cambridge is awash with good independent schools so depends on your children and the type of school you want. With a Y6 and Y4 I’d be thinking more about secondary than primary.
