hi

My dd(4)has just started reception and is currently reading the parallel books for the pink level in the "New Way" scheme. She is very keen to go to a bookshop and buy some books to read herself.

Is your dc reading these and what do they read for fun?

She has read ORT books level 6 and "Songbirds" to level 5 from the library but she doesn't like these anymore. Also she has read "Dr. Seuss" green level;"Ladybird RIY" level 3; "Peter and Jane" to level 6 and the "Usborne" phonic readers.

Any ideas very appreciated.

thanks

We just go to the library and try and pick out something at his level from the early readers - the bananas (yellow, blue etc) series have been quite fun.

If you got to a big Waterstones they'll have lots of reading scheme books for her to choose from!
