Moving during primary school application Richmond

Hello!

I know a lot has been posted on this topic already in the past but I'm wondering if any parents had some recent experience with moving during the primary school application process in Richmond.

We are thinking of moving within Twickenham but not to get closer to any particular school. It seems all the schools around here are really good. Our concern is mainly what will happen if we move after the 15.Jan application deadline, possibly just before the April allocation but could be after.

We spoke to the admissions office and understand if we move anytime during the whole process up to the school start date, our application would be reassessed based on new address and potentially withdrawn and our son would be put on a waiting list.

We don't want to risk losing a school place because we are moving. Some parents previously mentioned long waiting lists on here in the past and all schools seem oversubscribed and popular.

If anyone has done this and had any advice specifically for this area, we would be very grateful.

Beccy

Yet another admissions office either giving bad advice or breaking the Admissions Code. Once a place has been offered and accepted it can only be withdrawn if it was offered in error or if the original application was fraudulent or intentionally misleading. They cannot withdraw an offer just because you move after offers are made.

Having looked at Richmond's admission arrangements I think this is a case of them giving poor advice rather than breaking the Admissions Code. Their admission arrangements simply say that they will revise your place on the waiting list if you move.

@prh47bridge sorry for the late reply. Thanks so much for your response and taking the time to check the admission page. That is good to know!
