Petts Wood Schools catchment

Hi All,

We are in the process of finalising a house in Petts Wood East (Petts Wood road specifically). I wanted info on the catcment of the nearby schools. We are keen on Crofton infant and Perry Hall schools. Our daughter is 15 months old now, fyi. So when we checked both Crofton infant and Perry Hall are 0.7 miles from the post code of the house we are in the process of finalising. Could you share your experience on these schools' catchments and if we have a good chance? Thank you!

Here is how places were allocated in the last few years (distance that offers went out to) - pages 21 and 22.

At 0.7miles, this suggests no chance of Perry Hall (which has been at 0.3/0.4 miles on offer day) but possibly, though not necessarily very likely, Crofton Infants (0.64, 0.83, 0.6 over the past three years).

Crofton has become increasingly popular and given the 6 form intake it is astonishing that it only goes out to between half and three quarters of a mile. Some places go to siblings and lots of families have moved to the area in recent years bucking the trend in some other primaries where due to lower birth rate years the pressure on places is reducing.

It depends on demand for schools the year you apply. Unfortunately you won’t get into Perry Hall. Crofton catchment varies but on the whole is getting smaller every year. We were on the waiting list this year and we live 0.67 miles away. We moved here 4 years ago with Crofton in mind.

You would probably get into Tubbenden which has a wider catchment and is a good school but a car ride away.

Are you Catholic? St James RC church is excellent but 1 form entry. 22 places this year went to siblings.

Petts Wood is a lovely area for families. So much to do.
