Surbiton V Thames Ditton

Hello, I have a DD who is 2 and currently live in a small 2 bed in Thames Ditton. We’d like a bit more space now as we have another on the way and have seen a much bigger house (would give us all the space we’d need) we can afford in surbiton. Both me and DH work in central London so the trains from surbiton would be massive bonus and we are more urban people so love the cafes/shops/pub etc in surbiton.

We don’t massively love living in TD, (we’ve found it a bit unfriendly at times) but the concerns are we live by river currently and can walk to bushy park and Hampton court, which DD loves and we’d be moving near a main road in surbiton (pollution, noise?). Also live next to TD infant school, which we’ve heard is a good school and we don’t know much about the schools in surbiton. Any advice about living in the 2 areas with kids would be welcome!! Thank you!

You can compare schools on there. I don’t know the areas well enough to comment but Surbiton is much closer to a bridge if you want to get over the river?

I’m surprised Surbiton is cheaper that TD. Are you looking more in Tolworth? Will you even be within walking distance of the river if that’s what you enjoy?
