Hi all,

I am looking for some advice. Our son has been offered a place at Homefield prep (Sutton), to join reception next autumn.
However, we were also looking into Ewell Castle school in parallel and now can't make a decision which one to go for!
My feeling was that Ewell Castle seemed a much happier place to be, both pupils and staff were very approachable and enthusiastic
Homefield, on the other hand seemed a bit stiff and dry, except the music department lead, who was awesome :)
Jokes aside, we understand Homefield us more academic and thus works for us, but will this come at the expense of being a fun and comfortable place to be in?
Yes, we are leaning towards Homefield at the moment, but don't want to overlook Ewell Castle only because we have the place at Homefield.
Our priorities are science, arts, music, sports. I have no doubt both schools will be good enough in maths and English, plus if that's not the case - we will support these areas with 1-1 tutoring, if needed.
Ta!

Yes, Homefield is very academic and Ewell Castle generally recommended for children struggling in some areas. I don’t know where you live, but you could also look at Banstead Prep - it could a middle ground between the two and has lovely facilities and grounds.
