This might be controversial... why is it that primary schools rely on games such as Prodigy and Spelling Frame to teach kids these days? How have children changed so much that they are unable to learn spellings and maths sums by simply writing them on paper?
I have an ulterior motive to this question aside from my own feelings associated with old fashioned teaching being far better.
My son has ADHD and at 8 years old we manage his symptoms by avoiding sweet foods and keeping him away from fast moving hyper active computer games.
But the 'learning homework' given by school is just that - a fast moving computer game that disrupts his mind (he's a different child after playing these games!)
I will be speaking to the school (I've spoken to them in earlier years) but interested in comments - especially from other ADHD children parents!
