Hi there! Planning to move to Tunbridge Wells next year with DD who will start reception in September but will only move later in the year so will miss the application deadline. Anybody has any advice or experience they can share how this works? Thank you!

Applications for primary close on 15 Jan, but Kent will accept applications late "for a good reason" in writing until 10 Feb.

If you apply after that, but before May 6, a place will be allocated on June 10 in the first round of reallocations. If you apply after May 6, a place will be allocated after that reallocation is done.

They do have a duty to find you a place once you have a local address, (check what is required to prove this, sometimes they do it on exchange, sometimes completions, or a signed rental contract, I'm not sure about Kent), but it will be the nearest school with spaces, which may not be a school of your choice.

Hi there! Thank you so much for your reply. It is super helpful! I am kind of prepared that we won't get into the top schools ( I heard its really tricky to get in) but just want to be prepared and find the best way =)
Many thanks!
