Hi, looking at the above school options for my son (year 1).

I would consider other independent primary schools in Bromley although will have to be co-ed for my daughter who would join later.

Looking for good pastoral care with a strong focus on academic too.

Does anyone have any experiences (Positive or negative) to share?

Thanks in advance!

Lots of children leave Christopher The Hall because of academics. Mostly at 7+ where they go to places like Eltham College, Royal Russell and Croydon High - all through schools so they don’t have to do the 11+.

It’s the sort of school that coasts. It’s not bad but there are far better schools in the area. There’s not enough independent school places for those that want them in the area so they never have a problem filling empty places. It’s made them a bit complacent. A lot of the staff have been there a long time and it’s all a bit stale.

Their lockdown provision was awful initially and didn’t improve that much after Easter. More and more children leaving as a result.

Like I said, it’s not bad, but there are much better schools in the area.

Bishop challoner would be my choice of the three, if you don't mind the faith aspect. It's small so every child is known and has a real family feel.

Braeside is owned by Cognita a large corporate rather than a charitable trust.
