Hi,

I'm thinking of sending my son to York House next year for year 3 entry. Looking at common entrance Merchant Taylor's afterwards... How does the school compare to others in the area? How does it compare a axenically to say St Martin's or St Johns in northwood? I do like the space they have at YH but wanted to check with you all.. tks

It does send boys to Merchant Taylor’s on a regular basis but probably not as many as St Martin’s. The thing to remember about MT is that your son needs to be naturally very bright to get in. No school in the world can get an average child to the required standard I doubt.

York House is obviously co-Ed so that is one consideration. It does have much better outdoor space. I do know that they are very honest in making recommendations for next schools too and work to find the school of best fit. Unlike St Martin’s which is rather more of an exam factory for MTs. Depends what you want from your school I guess?
