Hello you fab folks!

My question is related to preferences for national secondary day.

31 Oct. Submit online.

Is it in my imagination or is there a second, slightly later date where if I suddenly panic, I can legitimately change my preference order?

Does this appear in some sort of code or is it different in each LA ?thank you

I’m not sure but.... each LA will spell out the procedure on their web site. My LA has very detailed info and timelines. Rather than posters guessing what your LA says, I would look it up.

Thank you

Much easier said than done to find this specific information on their utterly shit website!

There are no national rules around this. It depends entirely on your LA. They don't have to allow you to change your preference order at all.

Thank you very much @prh47bridge

Try phoning them then. Our experience has been that they are pretty good in person.

In my area there is normally a second application date around March time, but that is for exceptional cases such as house moves and you have to provide evidence of this. It's not for changes of mind I don't think. If you apply later than the first deadline without reason then you would just be classed as a late applicant.
Check with your LA though

Thank you all
I contacted them and I have the information!

There is a later date but with the proviso the offer letter would miss an online response (ie posted and at the mercy of the mail)

This is actually great news for me and I'm grateful for your advise MN to help me get it.
