Hello Mumsnet,

Was wondering if anyone had any experience with primary schools in the welling area? My DS is due to start next sept and I’m fairly new to the area so don’t have any word of mouth recommendations etc and we obviously can’t view them so feeling a little lost.

From the spec & ofsted, Eastcote primary school looks good. Does anyone have an opinions or info on this particular school?

Thank you in advance!

Hi Omar1989,

We live in Welling at the moment.
My son went to Bishop Ridley until March 2020 due to the lockdown, I liked the school, headmaster and all the staff were lovely. Happy to answer any questions about Bishop Ridley, though we were there only for a few months.
He is now in reception class in a London school, I am debating whether to move him back to a Primary school in Welling, would look into Hook Lane and Danson Primary as they are close to me.
I am looking for a school with students have more mixed background as I am hoping to build up friendships with the parents too. I didn't try hard enough at Bishop because I didn't want to live in Welling for too long, lol. But it looks like we may have to live there for a few more years.
I would really only move him after I visited school and had a chat with the headmasters.

Would be interested to hear what people say about Hook Lane and Danson Primary.

Hi,

I am in the same boat - my son is due to start in Sept 2021 and we are fairly new to the area too. I have looked into it and Fosters & Barrington have stood out for me - but its so hard to tell without word of mouth from other parents. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
