Independent Berkshire Schools with strong SEN Support

Does anyone have any experience of Berkshire independent schools for a child with high functioning autism, without an EHCP? My son is struggling socially and definitely not meeting his potential academically so I will be going down the private route. It would be good to receive recommendations for independents with strong SEN support and pastoral care please.

West Berkshire as an area is considered particularly good at getting EHCPS and getting correct education be that in the state system or by them obtaining places at private schools such as Grateley House School. Grateley is actually in Hampshire, but quite a few West Berks children go.
