Where to find waterproof plain black trainers

DD is starting school in September and, quite apart from the long list of uniform requirements, they’ve also said in a separate email that she needs waterproof trainers in plain black. Why, I’m really not sure, as I had waterproof trail running shoes once, which were fine until it rained and I did a race with puddles. Went through the first one, water came over the top and couldn’t get out, so I spent the next 9.5 miles with water sloshing around in my shoes. They went in the bin when I got home.

Anyway, I digress. Where might I find these mythical trainers? Any ideas? Someone suggested Decathlon but I can’t see them on their website and I’m an hour away from my nearest store.

Some of the clarks “boys” school shoes are actually trainers. Expensive though. See if there’s a parents’ Facebook group where you can ask.

They don’t have to be truly waterproof - just not those mesh trainers. They will put them in to go outside to play and at our school it’s all weathers. They just need to not get soaked through in the rain.

I have some Reebok ones in dark red and white - I think they do black too.

Geox do trainer style waterproof shoes, but ds wears them for his actual shoes. It would feel like a waste to keep them for pe.

Superfit does black goretex trainers (we use them as school shors)

I guess they just mean don't buy pe pumps. Anything that isn't canvas would do.

Geox claim to be waterproof yet breathable and they do trainers.

I agree with PPs though, they probably just mean avoid the mesh type and get something more suitable for winter.

Reebok or Adidas websites - we use them for normal school shoes. Usually around the £20 mark if you loiter in the outlet section.
